Walks & Talks in Austin

Movement, nature, and emotional connection.

The traditional therapy setting does not work for everyone. Walk & Talk Therapy offers a gentle alternative — taking therapy outside, where movement and nature can ease anxiety, support focus, and encourage openness.

Sessions take place on quiet trails or in natural outdoor spaces. Walking side by side often helps kids and teens feel more comfortable expressing themselves. Based on the concept of shinrin-yoku, japanese forest bathing, this is a mindfulness-based therapy that can reduce anxiety, depression, mitigate ruminating, and release physical tensions. This setting is particularly helpful for clients who feel less comfortable in a traditional therapy office setting. Walking in parallel with sensory stimulation rather than sitting face to face may allow for increased engagement.
