Groups for Autistic Individuals and Their Loved Ones
Currently Accepting Clients from: Texas, Virginia, and Maryland
At Fox & Acorn Child Therapy, we offer groups for neurodivergent individuals of all ages to help them better understand themselves and connect with others. Unlike traditional social skills groups, our approach emphasizes authentic self-expression—we believe connection comes from both knowing and being yourself.
Our groups use the Neurobears program, developed by Nic King, to help participants:
-
Understand neurodivergence, including Autism and ADHD
-
Explore their own needs and preferences
-
Discover joy and meaningful connection with others
Caregiver groups also use Neurobears so families can share a common language and understanding with their children.

Parent Group for Families of Autistic Young People
Virtual: Fall 2025, TBD - 8 week program, group will vote on time
Led by: Tala Halik
Location: Clients in Texas, Virginia, or Maryland
Cost: $50 per person
This group provides a supportive space for parents to explore and understand neurodivergence—both in their children and, at times, in themselves. Our parenting groups also use Neurobears so that caregivers can have the same language and understanding as their children. Using the Neurobears program as a guide, we’ll focus on:
-
Gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to parent a neurodivergent young person
-
Balancing your own needs as a parent while supporting your child
-
Building connection, support, and understanding among fellow parents
